Annapurna is popping indie hit Stray into a movie.
As reported by Entertainment Weekly, the discharge is being helmed by Annapurna Animation, although there is not a lot info past that.
“This can be a sport that is all about what makes us human, and there aren’t any people in it,” Annapurna Animation boss Robert Baird stated.
“It is a buddy comedy a few cat and a robotic, and there is such a hilarious dynamic. So, there’s comedy inherent on this, however there’s not one human being on this film. I believe it is one of many the reason why the sport was extremely fashionable, that you’re seeing the world by way of the standpoint of an lovely cat. How did they pull that off, and the way are we going to tug that off within the film? We’ll, although generally it feels not possible, however we all know that is the essence of the sport and the important thing to telling the story.”
Fellow Annapurna Animation chief Andrew Millstein added: “First off, it’s simply wildly fashionable. Folks interact within the sport for a wide range of causes, and I believe for us at Annapurna, working with totally different artistic folks, it is a puzzle. What’s it about this sport that’s so fashionable? Then the query is, how do you adapt a sport into longform storytelling that’s extremely respectful to the sport itself and the audiences, however then is also movie worthy? The method of that’s at all times a part of the problem.”
Stray launched in July 2022.
